Detailed Review For Noble Directory

We had the opportunity this time to review Chetan’s  nobledirectory and we thank him for his lovely interview. Noble Directory has nice green soothing look, and a logo which can use work, as it does not blend properly. The theme used is a paid template which I am sure I have seen on few other directories. Chetan, however, did mention in his interview I have plans to change it, but still confused about which template designer to go with”. So, we can expect something more unique for the directory.
Directory has no broken links that we noticed. This directory has real potential, it already has a good pagerank of 4, and expecting possibly pagerank of 6, inner pages and detail pages also have pageranks. Noble, although doesn’t have too many active links, but has some helpful content. For example I never knew there was something called “Tollywood”, I was aware of only Bollywood and Hollywood, but “tollywood”? Now I know !! . There are quite a few mods installed which increase the overall functionality of the directory, for example the “A-Z listings Mod” and “Sitemap”. Directory also offers lots of Deeplinks for regular and featured listings. Submission process is simple, but the guideline instructions are not that readily visible, maybe Chetan might want to put them on the submission page itself. Overall a good directory but still would give 9/10 for lacking a unique design and malformed logo/header.

What is your name and age and where are you from?
I am Chetan Bhawani, 20 year old student from South India.

When was your directory created? And might we dare ask what made you jump into the directory business? Did any directory motivated or inspired you to start your own directory?
My first directory was built in September last year. I was inspired by the hard work by Jeff of aviva directory, and just thought I should have one. Also I had learnt a lot of things from my brother Amit of gii.in 🙂

Do you remember the first Pagerank your directory received, if so would you mind sharing it with us. What are your plans for the next one?
The 1st update of PR for my directory got a PR4, and it’s the same till now. I have built it a lot since then and promoted it in a good strategy and hope to hit a PR6 this update.

Is it prepared properly to face the next PR update?
Yes it is. I have got it submitted into many high strength directories, and by site-wides i have got thousands of back links. It has currently got a page strength of 5.5 and so I think I have worked lot satisfactorily on it to get some nice results this update.

What about the template? Is it custom made or using readily available free templates? And do you have any plans in near future for changing the design?
It’s neither custom made, nor free template which I am using. Actually it is a paid template, which can be bought by several people. I have plans to change it, but still confused about which template designer to go with, as all whom I have seen in the forums do their work to their best.

What modifications or some say mods do you have installed?
There are several mods installed in the directory, such as Deep Links Mod, Category sponsor Mod, Statistics Mod, A-Z listings Mod, Same category links in link details page Mod, and others like sitemap etc.

Do you believe that a directory should have a blog?
Yes blog in a directory is a good thing. It helps the directory owner to drag in some nice amount of traffic, and also other directory owners and visitors can get updates about the directory or other directory related stuff through the blog. I have 2 blogs for my directory but concentrating mainly on Directory Owners Blog

Do you have a link building strategy you want to share?
In my view, Quality matters, and not the quantity. Anyways I work on both for the back links: 1. The number of links and 2.The PR of the back linking pages. I might not always get it, but I try to get links mainly embedded within content. I also generally believe in natural one-way links like article submission, but still haven’t done it for this directory.

Is there a promotion strategy you are after?
I try to promote the directory in such a way that people just don’t come in and go without finding anything, but they find something useful in the directory. I have to say I didn’t still promote it in a way in which I need to, as most of my visitors are the webmasters and other directory owners, and only a small part of it is unique traffic, coming in search of something helpful.

How is traffic? Do you have any specific goals set?
Traffic is increasing and still never experienced a fall in alexa, and it is near to 100k right now. The no. of unique visitors has been increased and comes mostly from webmaster related sites which link to me.

Where is your traffic coming from?
Mostly from web directories and webmaster related sites linking to my site, and a small amount of traffic comes from Search engines, mainly from Google. Have not got from MSN or yahoo as much as from Google.

What about SEO and SERPs? Do you believe in that and as a directory owner do you believe it’s a requirement for any directory?
I strongly believe in SEO and SERPs and try to get in top in the search engine results, and infact the directory is in the top for a few keywords which are basically related to webmasters.

What keywords are you targeting, if any?
Have not succeeded and could not be in the top yet, but I am trying to increase SERPs for keywords related to different niches, eg. Pets Web Directory, Business Directory, Health Directory, directory of directories etc.

Do you have any kind of stats regarding the traffic your directory sends to the listed sites?
Working on getting the incoming traffic, I am not presently concentrating on the traffic that is out-going from my directory. Will do keep the stats recorded from the near future.

Are there any other strong features you think must be pointed out?
All I can say is, Submit to know what you got :p the directory is building nice strength and is going to surely give stronger back links.

Would you like to share with everyone the stats of your directory? For example, active links, number of categories, and inactive links?
The directory has around 120 active links within 700 categories, and the category structure is going to be larger in the coming time.

How many editors does your directory have? If none, do you plan on hiring editors at later stages of your directory development?
Me, and my brother (Amit) are the only editors right now. And I have no plans to hire more editors, I like to handle the directory myself and dedicate my time towards it.

How can users get in touch with you?
People can directly mail me to nobledirectory@gmail.com or can submit any queries here – Contact Me
If lazy to do any of them, just call me at +91-9989659918 and I would be there to answer you.

Would you like to add anything else, that we might have missed?
