For a second I was like wth is professor Kendall doing on my site posting an interview.. but soon realized that owner of http://www.gonewanderin.com happens to be a different person .. not that I do not like professor kendall (professor who taught something related to physics),just that, I was you can say, "not the brightest" of the bunch in the class  .. Anyways enough with my life, let’s get on with reviewing Kendall’s directory. By the way thanks Kendall that you liked this site and took your time to send us your complete interview, was an interesting read. As, you might have noticed the domain name does not reflect upon itself that it’s a directory, which is cause of the fact that it was a fansite and recently only converted to a directory. What I would have liked is if it was rather converted to niche directory (music,artists,crafts maybe). Cause there are so many general directories out there is suppose, and from live directoy stats seems like it has more categories than active link, thus its overcrowded right now with categories rather than sites, so quick suggestion please populate the directory or remove unwanted categories.

First impression for Web Bin Directory – “General web directory with “simplicity” as its motto or principle of operation”. You can immediately from looking at it say “oh just another directory what’s so special”, first of all if you did not notice it yet, look at the urls for various categories. That’s no normal, off the market script, and is made clear by Marty in the interview where he mentioned “The Web Bin, is written in Perl and I would like to think it fairly unique from the norm.” Before I forget, when asked “What about SEO and SERPs? Do you believe in that and as a directory owner do you believe it’s a requirement for any directory?
Marty replied, “Unsure about that, but basically my look on that is that, yeah meaningful URL do look nice but who looks at URL after you enter a page.” My reply to Marty would be, today in the world of competition, you need to rank well on google and bots and spiders do actually care about the url’s and they look at them. Humans usually do not visit directories much these days just to search for a site.

Detailed Review For Linkspub Web Directory

Linskpub web directory is a paid directory, but first impression is omg “wtf’” where is the directory? It’s filled with banners and ads and what not. And seems at first glance as a spammy site, rather than a resourceful directory,until you scroll down to bottom where you might be able to see categories of the directory. I did ask adnan about the same, but he said they are about to expire and will not add any more banner ads, but recently I seen him selling again some of the banner ads, so not sure what to say here. But such directories I rarely even bother checking out, but for purpose of review, I clicked the submit link, and I was lost instantly, it has way too many images and can be confusing for a noob submitting their website. Submission should be simple and easy with not so much clutter. There are not many categories nor active links that I could spot. (more…)

| The owner of ievu asked for a review and an honest one via pm and offered this “If you could do this for me I can add you a link to the directory just submit one and skip the payment and let me know” and hence I was obliged to write this review, since I got few mins. to spare, but its ok I will not be submitting any link to the directory, and if someone wants to link to this site, it’s their choice no pressure or requirement but it does bring happiness to me and only helps those listed on this directory review website. I investigated possible reason at Digitapoint and after going over this thread

http://www.realwd.com/ and http://www.allphpld.com/ (seems like even this is suspended). Now, according to hostgator according to that digitalpoint thread he owns them $400 , and also britishguy seems to have been duped by him as he has not completed the work he got paid for !! (more…)

Detailed Review For LinksQuitters Directory

Dave and Annie have done a nice job setting up LinksQuitters. It has a nice green touch to it, which does not hurt your eyes either . I liked both browsing , and enjoyed few games on sites which are listed on LinksQuitters, like the ladybug game,found at Kids Mac Games !
I did complete the ladybug game whohoo!!
LinksQuitters has some interseting sites listed,that I never heard of and I give credit to Dave and Annie for creating a resourceful directory. Most of the credit goes to Annie (more…)

Detailed Review For Directory Dump Web Directory

Directory Dump is suppose to be a general web directory of sites. But on visiting and browsing various categories, it appears its more of a Rss Feed Dump rather than a dump of sites. That is correct this directory has more news feeds than actual site listings. Directory Dump seems to be not too old of a directory, maybe that’s the reason behind it having lots of empty categories. By empty I mean no site listings but just news feeds mostly from yahoo. If I were to make a guess at to how many actual listings are there, I would say less than 30% are actual site listings.Thus, leaving me guessing that 70% are news feeds.Actually did some calculations (more…)
